With just a few days left until the main event, if you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping yet, you might be starting to feel a little hot under the collar, so we thought we’d give you a helping hand to get it all done by sharing with you our top tips for last minute shopping.

Late Night Shopping

The biggest problem with Christmas shopping for many of us is finding the time amongst day jobs, family life and other commitments to make our way to the stores we need, so if you’re still waiting to get your hands on a few last-minute gifts, late night shopping could be the perfect solution.

Many towns and cities offer late night shopping over the festive period, so if you’re looking to hit the shops after work, here’s some places close to our stores that have extended their opening hours in the run up to Christmas. The below hours are for the week commencing 18th December 2017:

Always double check the stores/centres websites for hours!

Online Shopping

One of the easiest ways to get your Christmas shopping done fast without battling the crowds is to do it online and thanks to the wonder of speedy delivery options, you can have your goods at your door well before Christmas.

If you’re wanting to make the most of our limited time offer of free delivery on orders over £50 and get your gifts from Slaters with you before the big day, then you’ll need to place your order by the 18th December for it to be delivered to either your home or Ship2Shop before Christmas!

Click & Collect

It’s not always possible to be at home when you’re expecting a delivery and there’s nothing more frustrating than receiving one of those dreaded cards that inform you that your delivery has been taken elsewhere for you to pick up!

Click & Collect services are a dream if you know you’ll be close to the store you’re ordering from in the run up to Christmas and will have time to pop in and pick it up.

We offer this service at all 25 of our stores and we will hold your order for 14 days after it arrives in store, so you can pick it up at a time that suits you! To get your Slaters’ order sent to your local store in time to collect before Christmas, you’ll need to place your order by December 15th!

Postage

It’s not just retailers who rely on delivery services to get goods out, if you’re posting a gift off to someone and you’ve left it a little late then you could also find yourself relying on fast delivery services too!

Royal Mail offer a next day delivery service on parcels all year round but they recommend sending your parcels by special delivery by December 22nd for guaranteed delivery by Christmas!

Parcel Force offer their express24 service 12-months a year and it’s a great way to send heavier packages as they can deliver parcels weighing up to 30kg on next day delivery! You can use this service as late as December 21st and your parcel will still arrive at its destination before Christmas!

DPD are another reliable UK courier who can get your parcel where it needs to be quick thanks to their DPD Next Day delivery service. DPD can also deliver to over 200 countries around the world, making it easier than ever to distribute your gifts!

Wrapping

Leaving your Christmas shopping to the last minute has a knock-on effect with everything else, so if you buy the gifts late, it means you’ll have left wrapping them to the last minute too. The best way to bypass the stress of wrapping when you’re running out of time is to get it done as you go!

Many large shopping centres have specialist wrapping services available across Christmas, such as Eldon Square in Newcastle, where you can take your gifts, pay a fee and get them all professionally wrapped, meaning all you have to do is deliver them on the day!

Some online retailers also offer gift boxes/wrapping with your orders for an extra charge, meaning they arrive at your door ready to distribute to friends and family which could save you a lot of work!

If you can’t get your hands on a wrapping service or don’t want to spend the extra money, we’d recommend going for gift bags or boxes as this is a quick and easy way to pack up presents while still making them look nice!
We hope this has given you the help you needed to get your Christmas shopping done in these final few days before Christmas!
