Blockbuster Bucket List for 2018

We’ve talked all things movies on the blog before, including reviews of some of 2017’s biggest hits such as The Mummy and Baby Driver, and with a new year comes new cinema releases, so we’re going to share with you our ‘Blockbuster Bucket List’ for 2018.

We’ve scoured the UK’s box offices to find out what’s going to be coming to the big screen over the next 12-months and we’re going to be sharing with you all the most exciting new movies, so you can plan your cinema trips for this year wisely.


12th – Insidious: The Last Key – if you’re into horror or thriller movies then you won’t want to miss the release of the newest addition to the Insidious film series, The Last Key.

19th – The Commuter – fitting perfectly in the crime drama category, The Commuter stars Liam Neeson in a storyline filled with action.

26th – Maze Runner: The Death Cure – Dylan O’Brien is back in the newest Maze Runner film, The Death Cure, also starring Kaya Scodelario and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.


2nd – Den of Thieves – Starring Gerard Butler, Den of Thieves is an action-packed crime drama based around a bank robbery.

9th – Fifty Shades Freed – Perhaps one more for the women, but Fifty Shades Freed is still set to be one of the most popular cinema releases of 2018 after the success of the previous films.

12th – Black Panther – New from Marvel Studios, Black Panther features Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan in an action packed 2-hour movie.


16th – Tomb Raider – This 2-hour film features Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, the daughter of an eccentric adventurer and showcases her journey into the unknown.

23rd – Pacific Rim Uprising – if you’re on the lookout for a new action-filled film then Pacific Rim Uprising is going to be perfect for you.

30th – Ready Player One – an action-packed sci-fi theme, Ready Player One features Simon Pegg and Hannah John-Kamen.


27th – Avengers: Infinity War – Back with vengeance in April 2018, Infinity War is the newest addition to the Avengers film series, starring Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth.


18th – Slender Man – set to be a spine-chilling addition to the box office, Slender Man is a haunting story of a terrifying figure, played by Javier Botet.


1st – Deadpool 2 – still to have the official title confirmed, the second instalment of the Deadpool films is to feature Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin.

8th – Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – one of the most popular film series is back this June, Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom will star Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt.

22nd – Ocean’s 8 – Anne Hathaway stars in this exciting crime film which follows her plot to heist New York’s yearly Met Gala.


13th – Incredibles 2 – a throwback for many, the second of the Incredibles films is to be released this year, featuring Craig T. Nelson and Samuel L Jackson as the voices of main characters.

27th – Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again – if you can’t deny your love for a light-hearted musical, then you may be keen to see the new Mamma Mia film, ‘Here We Go Again’.


3rd – The Predator – The Predator returns to the big screen with a new, modernised fourth instalment.

17th – Captive State – a sci-fi thriller set in Chicago, Captive State explores conflict in the area from years past.


As of yet, there’s no new releases to UK cinema announced for September, but keep your eyes peeled for updates from the likes of IMDb.


12th – Johnny English 3 – after the popularity of the first two films, Rowan Atkinson is back as Johnny English for a third instalment.

19th – The Jungle Book/Mowgli – based on the storyline of the book and animated film – The Jungle Book, Mowgli is a new and modernised version of this classic childhood tale.



2nd – X-Men: Dark Phoenix – a highly-anticipated release, the newest X-Men movie is set to star Jennifer Lawrence and Evan Peters.

16th – Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – following on from the first Fantastic Beasts film, which is the prequel to the Harry Potter series, the next instalment will feature a star-studded cast of Johnny Depp, Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston.


14th – Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse – Spiderman fans listen up because the newest film in the series is hitting screens in December 2018, starring Liev Schreiber.

21st – Aquaman – a mixture of adventure and sci-fi, Aquaman follows the journey of Arthur Curry, played by Jason Momoa on his rise to royalty.

28th – Bohemian Rhapsody – a unique addition to the box office and one for the music fans, Bohemian Rhapsody will follow the journey of music legends, Queen.

We think 2018 is going to be a year full of trips to the cinema and we’ll be sure to keep the blog up to date with reviews of any of the above that we think are real must-sees!
