It’s officially autumn (wahey!) a season we love at Slaters because it gives us a fresh opportunity to create new looks and get those favourite knitted jumpers back out.
Since it’s October, we think it’s time we share with you our top tips for dressing in the autumnal months and how to create on-trend looks during this transitional season.
It’s Time to Layer
This season brings with it the perfect temperatures for layering up, which we love because it’s a trend that we think works well for any man on any occasion.
Here’s a look at our favourite layered combinations for this season – a blazer and waistcoat is always a classic, a jumper with a check shirt you just can’t go wrong…owning all these separate items allows you to creates multiple combinations by layering up or down accordingly:
Welcome in the Warmer Fabrics
For many, the best part of autumn fashion is the ability to welcome warmer fabrics into your wardrobe again. As much as a lightweight linen or a cool cotton are a blessing in the summer, there’s nothing quite as comforting as a tactile velvet, or soft, cosy wool when you’re feeling the chill.
Velvet is seriously IN this season, so if you’re eyeing up that trend and want the perfect piece to help you work the look, then our distinctive collection of velvet blazers are going to become your new best friend.
We’ve also got a whole host of mens knitwear available both instore and online that will make perfect additions to your autumn / winter wardrobe.
Change up the Accessories
Pack away the baseball caps and sunglasses and dig out the wool hats and knitted scarves because autumn brings with it the perfect weather to start mixing up your accessories.
There’s so many new ways to accessorise when the colder weather sets in. To give a nod to the important trends of the season, we recommend tartan patterns and tweed textures to add the finishing touch to your autumn attire:
Bring in the Boots
Autumn is the perfect season to bring in your wet weather footwear, which means it’s time to make room in your wardrobe for boots.
Loafers and boat shoes are great, but just not practical at this time of year, so a sturdy pair of boots is key to keeping you warm and dry through the upcoming months, as well as keeping you looking effortlessly dapper in every outfit.
We’ve shared all our favourite boots with you in a recent blog post, so check that out for some boots-piration!
