“The Golden Age of Motorsport”
‘If everything is under control you are just not driving fast enough’ – Stirling Moss
In the 1960s, motor racing was heralded as one of the most acclaimed sports of the time; its speed and high octane energy matched the spirit of the sixties, with men closely examining the make-up of the cars and their drivers.
For AW18 Farah Jeans has taken inspiration from this era’s aesthetics including the rich colours, textures and heritage detailing to create a collection of signature, standout and core pieces sure to drive your wardrobe swiftly into autumn.
Racing liveries provide colour and graphic inspiration to the collection; these include racing green, Ferrari red and electric yellow. Borrowing from the utility design elements seen on race car driver’s overalls, pockets and stitch details feature on t-shirts and shirts. Race-wear inspired fabrics also seen on overalls and pit crew uniforms, including denim and breathable fabrics such as polyester and nylon blends feature throughout the AW18 collection allowing for lighter pieces you can layer with ease.
Using tracks, car tyres and go-faster lines to inspire print and weaved fabrics, polos and knitwear are accented in signature racing stripes and textures.
Adding texture across bottoms, Farah Jeans include its signature hopsack as well as the season’s trend-led corduroy fabric on bottoms in the AW18 collection.
