Pride festivals and parades have become an annual occurrence in most of the UK’s biggest cities and Glasgow is no exception.
The Glasgow Pride parade and festival will take place in the city on the 19th and 20th August and is a time for the community to come together and celebrate everyone’s individuality with a weekend full of colour.
At Slaters, we always encourage standing out from the crowd and embracing your own personality through your style, so we wanted to share with you our top tips for supporting Pride Glasgow, even if you can’t make it to the main event.
Pride festivals are iconic for their rainbow flags, colourful face paint and general vibrant atmospheres, so we thought this would be the perfect time to introduce our favourite colourful accessories, a quick way to add a splash of vibrancy to your outfit, and it’s so simple!
Our ultimate way to add a pop of colour to your work attire around the time of Pride is with a colourful tie. Many men choose to style their suit with a bright tie anyway, so mixing up your colours and sporting something a little bolder, is the perfect way to show your support!
If a statement tie is too crazy for you, then cufflinks are the ideal way to add a really subtle hint of colour to your outfit. There’s nothing cooler than a crisp white shirt and a bright cufflink. We have a range of bold and colourful cufflinks that are perfect for wearing around the time of Glasgow Pride.
If you’re an especially dapper gent, then pocket squares might be your style, adding a colourful handkerchief to your attire is a great way to show your support for the occasion without going over the top. We’d always recommend matching your bright pocket square to your tie, but if you’re working an open neck shirt, a vibrant pop of colour from your pocket is the best way to finish your outfit.
If your style is strictly monochrome, then colourful socks can add a nice pop of colour to your look. Bright socks are always fun and a great way to show off your personality, without being too out there. We love the new range of Happy Socks available at Slaters, perfect for adding something bright and funky to your look.
So, there you have it, some simple and fun ways to incorporate a little colour in to your outfit and show your support for the upcoming Glasgow Pride parade and festival.
