The racecourse… it’s the place to see and be seen! We’re here to help de-code the dress code and make sure your outfit is a winner at the races.

These are the key routes you can take and some of the etiquette to follow for one of the nation’s favourite day’s out:

The Head Turner – Most people want to make a statement at the races, if that’s your style then a bold check pattern could be the choice for you.

Plain Wayne – There are plenty of lads out there who prefer to go down the subtle, minimalist look. Try a plain blue suit with an open collar or plain white T-shirt underneath for a smart but understated look. *TOP TIP* Before you rock up to the races looking super cool and relaxed…check the website where the event is being held to find out if a tie is an entry requirement!

Time to get formal – Royal Ascot is one of the only race days that has a must-follow dress code. Remember though, the dress code varies depending on which enclosure you are in. If you’re lucky enough to be in the Royal Enclosure then morning wear is essential, check out our hirewear section now for available styles. For the gents in the Grandstand make sure you’re wearing your best suit, shirt and tie.

The smart/casual solution – The blazer, it’s here to make your life SO much easier. Pair it with jeans and an open collar, or smarten it up a little with a waistcoat, shirt and tie.
