We always like to recognise Burns Night here at Slater Menswear as we’re a Scottish company at heart and this year we wanted to chat about the classic scot fabric – tartan!
Nothing says highland attire quite like tartan fabric and it’s the perfect print to incorporate into your outfit for any Burns Night celebrations, so we’re going to be sharing with you some top ideas for featuring tartan print in your look whether you want to go bold or a little more low key!
The Tartan Scarf
If you just want to add a hint of tartan to your look with the help of a simple accessory then the tartan scarf is soon to become your new best friend.
A winter staple for many years now, tartan scarves have been massively on trend for a long time and we don’t think they’re going to be disappearing anytime soon.
We’ve got a collection of tartan scarves available from top brands such as Barbour, so whether you want to go for a classic red and green tartan print or something a little more modern such as a grey tartan, we’ve got it all!
The Tartan Tie
A subtle but quirky way to incorporate tartan into a smart outfit for Burns Night is a tartan tie. We’ve got a variety of tartan bow ties that are fun and available in a selection of different colourways, so whether you’ve got a specific colour theme in mind or you want to sport your family tartan, we’re sure you’ll be able to find the perfect tartan tie here.
We recommend letting your check tie do the talking by pairing it with an understated white shirt and plain suit, allowing the pop of print and colour from your collar to be the star of the show!
The Tartan Shirt
They might be more commonly known as a check shirt but these cool and casual shirts are a nod to the classic tartan print, so if you want to get involved with the Burns Night fun without going too bold, a tartan shirt could be your perfect option.
We’ve got both long and short sleeve check shirts for men in a variety of different colours and style, all from a selection of our best-selling and favourite brands including Jack & Jones and Barbour, so whatever kind of ‘tartan’ shirt you’re after for the occasion, check out our range!
The Full Scottish Look
If you’re not afraid to show off in full Scottish attire then why not go all out with a kilt, ghillie shirt and highland jacket?
We’ve got a whole department for highland attire available to hire but we’re sure that if you’re the kind of gent that likes to show off his love of Scotland then you’ve probably already got a kilt in your wardrobe ready to go!
However you choose to show off your Scottish roots this Burns Night, we hope you have a fabulous time celebrating the occasion but if you do get suited and booted in some tartan, we’d love to see!
