There’s something so exciting about a celebrity wedding, from the most glamorous of affairs to secret ceremonies and casual receptions, it’s always fascinating to see how people in the limelight choose to tie the knot.
With all the excitement of the recent Royal Wedding now over we’ve decided to take a look at a few other famous grooms and show you how you can recreate their look for your own special day.
Olympic diver and TV personality Tom Daley tied the knot to long-term partner Dustin Lance Black back in 2017 in an outdoor ceremony at Bovey Castle near Plymouth in Devon.
The whole event was planned to perfection and it was clear to see that every detail had been considered, especially their attire.
While Dustin sported a classic and well-fitting two piece navy suit, Tom went a little bolder in burgundy, a choice that was bang on trend for the season and remains a popular choice nearly 12 months later.
If you want to steal Tom’s wedding style, the three piece burgundy slim fit suit from Ventura is a perfect choice. Although Tom sported a two piece ensemble, a waistcoat can be added for a more formal feel, however if you want to completely recreate his look, leave the waistcoat for another occasion.
Daley sported the suit in the most classic way possible with a crisp white shirt, black tie and patent black shoes, letting the colour of the suit do all the talking.
One half of TV’s most loveable duo, Declan Donnelly made it official in 2015 with his long-term girlfriend Ali Astall.
The couple got married in Dec’s hometown of Newcastle and enjoyed a glamourous ceremony in St Michael’s Church, Elswick before heading into the summer sun to celebrate tying the knot.
Both bride and groom opted for an understated yet modern feel, Dec showcasing just how well a smart blue suit works for a groom.
A bold blue blazer and trousers were contrasted by a vintage style grey double-breasted waistcoat, adding a touch of Dec’s quirky personality to the look. A blue tie, white pocket square and black shoes completed this dapper outfit.
It wasn’t just the groom sporting this ensemble on the big day though, as expected in the run-up to the big day, Ant McPartlin played the part of best man and wore identical attire.
James Matthews tied the knot to the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister, Pippa Middleton in 2017 and sported a traditional morning suit for the occasion. The couple were joined by the future King and Queen of England and other royals at St Mark’s church in Englefield in May 2017 where their tasteful and traditional ceremony took place.
No less than what you’d expect from a regal affair of this kind, a similar three piece ensemble was suited by all males at the event with varying trouser prints, waistcoat styles and tie colours to be seen.
Here at Slater Menswear, we believe that hiring a morning suit is preferable to purchasing one outright. It’s not the type of outfit you would often wear so to get the best value for money our formal hire department is the right place to go.
Though traditional, James’ look was far from plain with a perfectly paired selection of colours and prints that although contrasting, worked together in harmony. A grey pinstripe trouser, powder blue waistcoat, black tailcoat and red spotted tie, James made a bold statement with this ensemble.
Although the couple didn’t post their wedding photos all over the internet like many celebs, fan accounts for Pippa went crazy for both of their attire on the big day.
After being engaged to TV personality Christine Bleakley for 4 years, Frank Lampard made his way down the aisle to tie the knot in December 2015 and sported a classic and cool ensemble for the occasion.
The ceremony took place at St Paul’s in Knightsbridge just days before Christmas and the couple went for a traditional and glamorous feel throughout the day and it’s fair to say that Frank had the attire to match.
A classic three piece tuxedo, Lampard channelled his inner 007 with this effortlessly dapper black suit, crisp white shirt and black bow tie, finished in the traditional way with a white pocket square and simple but smart black shoes.
Opting for an evening suit over a morning suit is a common choice in the modern day which is why we have these popular three pieces available for both purchase and hire here at Slater Menswear.
