What to Expect from the 2018 European Sports Championships in Glasgow

From the 2nd of August, the European Sports Championships will be taking place between Glasgow and Berlin and we’re going to be giving you an insight today into everything you need to know about this huge sporting event.

What Are the European Sports Championships?

This brand new multi-sport event will be launching in Glasgow and Berlin this year and is designed to bring together Europe’s most popular sports and around 4,500 of the best competitors in the continent.

The European Sports Championships will be hosted every four years, starting in August 2018 and is set to become one of the most exciting sporting competitions in the global calendar with 10 days of action-packed content for people to watch live and on TV.

Glasgow will be home to events including aquatics, cycling, golf, gymnastics, rowing and triathlons while athletic events will take place in Berlin.

If you’re not a sports fan, that doesn’t mean this event doesn’t have something to offer you. Festival 2018 is the ‘fun-filled cultural programme’ that will be running alongside the championships throughout the city, offering a range of social events for everyone to get involved with.

From the grand opening party to concerts, to activities to suit all ages, the Festival 2018 programme will keep anyone in the city of Glasgow busy throughout those 10 days.

How to Get Your Tickets?

If you want to be one of the lucky spectators to witness the first ever European Sports Championships, you can grab tickets to the event you want on the Glasgow 2018 website.

You can buy tickets to practice, qualifier and final events and ticket prices vary between £15 – £55 which compared to other global sporting events is extremely affordable.

Even better than the great value ticket prices, some of the events such as the triathlon and open water swimming events, are not ticketed and are free of charge to attend, so well worth visiting with the family for a great day out.
